I love these kinds of birthday trips: in 2003 I went to London to see AC/DC at the Hammersmith Apollo. This time Queen & Paul …

Judas Priest, Megadeth and Testament in Offenbach
Just a few years ago I finally got into the music of Judas Priest. After having seen two shows by “Just Priest” a German tribute band I decided to see the “Metal Gods” themselves.
The Stadthalle Offenbach was completely sold out and expectations were high.
The opening act “Testament” did not suit my ears at all, while Dave Musatain’s “Megadeth” put up an aweseome performance. In 1987 I once saw them at a very small location in Frankfurt. At that time Dave seemed to have some drug problems. In Offenbach he was in great shape. His guitar playing was really a killer!
While Megadeth was a very positive surprise Judas Priest’s show was a big disappointment! Rob Halford “The Metal God” had turned slow an phlegmatic. He barely looked to the audience, always standing very crooked staring at the stage’s ground. Only K.K. Downing and Glenn Tipton on guitars made up a bit for Rob’s inferior performance. They still know how to let their guitars sing and scream and give the audience a kick.
The pictures were taken from the audience with my Canon G9 and a rather strong zoom setting. Since I bought my ticket in front of the venue I could not get much closer to the stage this time …
